Vijay is a Partner in the Taxation Practice Group of the Firm. As a member of the Taxation Practice Group, he has assisted several clients on matters concerning taxation laws in India, tax efficient investment structures and various compliance measures.
He regularly advises clients on tax implications relevant to their business operations in India including issues related to permanent establishment in India, tax efficient investment jurisdictions, structuring transactions to reduce the impact of taxation and expatriate taxation.
In addition to the taxation practice, his practice areas include joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, exchange control laws and commercial laws. He has been involved in assisting clients during negotiations in the course of acquisitions and other business transactions. He also has significant experience in other facets of corporate laws including drafting and reviewing of various agreements, due diligence on target companies and advise on compliance and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, he has had the experience of working with two of the leading private sector banks in India wherein he gained valuable experience relating to the laws governing banks in India.
