The State of Delhi is the seat of the Government and the capital of the Republic of India. All Central Government Ministries including the Foreign Investment Promotion Board are located in New Delhi. The first presence established by Kochhar & Co. was in New Delhi and the Delhi Office is also the largest of the five full service offices of the Firm. During the last decade, the Delhi presence of Kochhar & Co. has grown rapidly to become one of the largest corporate law firms in India’s capital.

Gurgaon or the Millennium City, as it is often referred to, is located in the National Capital Region. It has rapidly developed into a new major business district on the outskirts of Delhi. During the last few years, Gurgaon has attracted sizeable investment from several multinational corporations, large Indian business houses as well as Non-Resident Indians.

The Firm has a substantial presence in Bangalore, one of the prominent cities in South India and popularly known as the "Silicon Valley of India". The Bangalore office is one of the most prominent law offices in Southern India in the area of information technology including internet and e-commerce laws. Kochhar & Co. (including its Bangalore office) is regarded by several international legal journals as the leading Indian law firm for Information Technology, Outsourcing and E-Commerce work. Amongst others, leading legal publications such as Asia Pacific Legal 500, Global Counsel 3000 and Euro money rank Kochhar & Co. as the leading Indian law firm for Information Technology, Telecom and Media work.

The city of Mumbai (Bombay) is the commercial capital of India and is also the banking and capital markets hub of the country. The Mumbai office of the Firm has witnessed tremendous growth since its inception in early 2001 and is regarded as one of the fastest growing law firms in the city. The office has full service capabilities but is particularly well regarded for its expertise in areas such as banking, M&A, project finance, securities law, venture capital investments, maritime and oil and gas. The Mumbai team works extensively with several large listed companies, who find the Firm’s proactive and business oriented approach dynamic and refreshing. The Mumbai office also represents many well-known international corporations doing business in India.

The Firm has a large and impressive presence in Chennai, the gateway to Southern India, which is now considered to be one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment. Abundant availability of well-trained manpower and strong infrastructure are amongst the greater strengths of the State of Tamil Nadu, the capital of which is Chennai.

The city of Hyderabad is hundreds of miles away from the sea but is best known for its pearls! This is testimony to the skills and the spirit of enterprise pervading the State of Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad is fast becoming one of the most preferred destinations for both domestic and foreign investment. This is attributable to the presence of strong infrastructure, good connectivity (by air, road, rail and sea), availability of a large well educated workforce and a peaceful industrial and labor climate, coupled with relatively lower costs. The Hyderabad office of the Firm is a full service office offering legal support and services in all areas of commercial, corporate and business laws. The Hyderabad presence also has an extensive tax litigation practice. This office represents some of the largest information technology companies in the world.

The Atlanta office provides local support in the US by serving as an effective communication channel between US clients and the various Kochhar offices in India. Typically, one or two attorneys from the Indian offices of the Firm are stationed in the Atlanta office to support the requirements of our US clients on a wide range of Indian corporate and commercial laws. The Atlanta office also provides full service legal support to US and Canadian companies in setting up business operations in India. The legal services include all aspects of setting up a business presence, company incorporation, regulatory approvals, obtaining required registrations, real estate support, etc. The office also assists Indian companies that wish to establish a presence in the US and Canada.

Being ranked the most competitive economy of Asia in 2007 and home to some 7000 multinational companies which have made Singapore their regional hub in Asia, it was a natural choice for Kochhar & Co. to open its office in this pulsating city. For many multinational companies using Singapore as their launch pad to the dynamic markets of India, Kochhar & Co. provides Indian legal advice in Singapore itself. Further, the office provides Indian law advice to Singapore companies which intend to invest or start business in India. The office was also established with an aim to provide an effective communication channel between its clients in Singapore and the various Kochhar offices in India. The office also assists Indian companies that wish to establish a presence in Singapore and neighboring countries and / or raise capital from the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Kochhar & Co. has filed an application with the Ministry of Justice in Japan for a foreign lawyers license which is pending disposal.

In Saudi Arabia, Kochhar & Co. has commenced operations in Jeddah and Riyadh in partnership with the Law Firm of Dr. Khalid Alnowaiser (LFKAN), KSA's most dynamic and progressive legal enterprise. Founded in the year 1996, LFKAN provides full service corporate, litigation and arbitration services that are designed to meet the critical legal needs of multinational corporations and private investors with investments and business operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. LFKAN is staffed by resident Saudi Arabian and international attorneys qualified in international law, Islamic Sharia and the Middle East legal system.

The Kochhar-Alnowaiser alliance endeavours to provide support to Indian investors in all aspects of their operations in KSA – from a legal as well as practical perspective. In addition to providing a full service legal assistance to Indian clients investing in new projects and establishing a business presence in the KSA, the Kochhar-Alnowaiser consortium would also represent Indian companies in resolving commercial disputes through an alternate mechanism of arbitration.

Kochhar & Co.'s UAE offices has been established in collaboration with the law offices of Mohammad Issa Odeh (MIO) with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Set up in the year 1985, MIO is one of the leading and largest law firms in the UAE. The Kochhar - MIO consortium will cover the entire length and breadth of legal representations in areas such as commercial transactions, banking and finance, arbitration, Islamic finance and infrastructure projects.
