K.V. is the Resident Partner of the Gurgaon office and heads its corporate practice. He has negotiated and structured a range of commercial transactions for domestic and multinational corporations, including, amongst others, in relation to infrastructure and project finance, structured finance and securitization, venture capital and private equity, real estate and construction, joint ventures, acquisitions, business process outsourcing, licensing, franchising and agency. Mr. Singh has also advised several non-profit organizations in respect of receiving foreign contributions, as also, choice of entity, such as liaison office, society, trust or non-profit company in India. He also possesses considerable experience in litigation and arbitration.
Over the last few years, his practice is primarily focused on infrastructure projects, project finance and environmental laws and issues, including sustainable development, clean technologies and Clean Development Mechanism (“CDM”) qualifying projects. In infrastructure, his experience ranges from advising clients on integrated townships, special economic zones (SEZs), malls, hotels and resorts to acting as counsel for lenders, developers, bidders and technology partners in respect of road, rail, power, transmission and airport infrastructure services.
In respect of environmental laws, he regularly advises clients on law, regulation and policy on hazardous chemicals, hazardous wastes, hazardous micro-organisms, electronic wastes, medical wastes, conservation of biodiversity, forests and various environmental laws and regulations, including industry specific reporting, mitigation, product recall and related aspects. He is also advising clients in respect of emission reduction purchase agreements (ERPA) and carbon trading, as also, energy and building efficiency, municipal solid waste, renewable energy, including bio-fuel projects in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
