Dorothy Thomas is the Resident Partner heading the Atlanta, USA office of Kochhar & Co.

The Atlanta office provides exclusive Indian legal consultancy services and specializes in representing corporations based in the United States and Canada in connection with their business interests in India. Prior to establishing the Atlanta office, Dorothy headed the Chennai (Madras) office of Kochhar & Co. She was the cofounding Partner of the Chennai office, which today is ranked as one of the best law firm in the State of Tamil Nadu, India. Dorothy's practice focuses on global business transactions and investments into India. She has extensive experience in advising clients on entry strategy options of investing in India, regulatory issues, real estate, foreign collaborations/joint ventures and is a lead consultant for several multinational companies across the United States and Canada. Dorothy's area of expertise also focuses on technology law encompassing advice to IT and ITES companies on outsourcing and establishing units in designated Software Technology Park (STP) Units. Dorothy serves on Board of Kochhar LexServe a legal outsourcing company in India, which is part of the Kochhar Group. Dorothy began her professional career in 1997 after completing law and graduating from Pune University, India. She was a gold medalist and stood first in the State of Maharastra, India when completing her law degree (LLB). She also holds degrees in Labor Law & Consumer Protection law.

Dorothy served on Board of several corporations and has been a lead consultant for companies with business interests in India. Her professional experiences combined with establishing successful ventures represent a broad spectrum of her capabilities in law and business development skills.
