Alok is a Partner in the Firm. He is a member of the Firm’s Merger and Acquisition practice and has been the lead attorney in successfully representing several foreign MNCs in their M&A deals within India. He also has extensive experience in representing various Indian and foreign companies, including major real estate developers and construction companies, on issues relating to real estate and construction laws in India. His real estate and construction experience includes advising on various aspects of acquisition of land, structuring the transaction and related documentation.
He has also advised various MNCs (including Fortune 500 companies) in setting up their export oriented units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and also under the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) scheme.
Alok advises MNCs on issues pertaining to business formation, company laws, exchange control & foreign investment laws and employment laws. He also advises on issues relating to setting-up of retail outlets based on self-owned and self-operated and/or franchisee model.
As part of his general commercial law practice, Alok has advised various multinational banks and other financial institutions relating to their business entry strategies into India, preparation of general guidelines regarding "Do’s & Don’ts while carrying on business in India", drafting and vetting of agreements including loan agreements, vendor agreements, service agreements, business association agreements, etc.
